Josh Wolf — of Counsel, Director of Civil Litigation
Joshua Wolf is a civil litigation attorney and business lawyer with more than fifteen years of experience representing clients in complex, high-stakes matters across state and federal courts. As the founder of Wolf Legal, LLC, he advises individuals, entrepreneurs, and companies on disputes, risk management, and strategic transactions, with a practice grounded in precision, efficiency, and results.
Before returning to private practice, Joshua served as Senior Counsel in the New York City Office of the Corporation Counsel, where he managed a substantial docket of complex litigation and appeals. His work focused on constitutional challenges, statutory interpretation, and high-value commercial disputes. He handled all phases of litigation—from pleadings and dispositive motions through discovery, settlement, and appeal—and regularly argued cases in both state and federal courts. During his tenure, he successfully defended claims totaling tens of millions of dollars and helped secure recoveries exceeding $130 million on behalf of the City.
He also served as lead counsel for the City in matters arising from the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, reflecting his ability to navigate sophisticated financial and insolvency-related litigation. In addition to courtroom advocacy, he advised senior policymakers and government agencies on regulatory compliance, funding structures, and the legal implications of legislative initiatives.
In private practice, Joshua represents clients in a broad range of civil disputes, including business and partnership conflicts, contract claims, fiduciary litigation, and regulatory matters. He is known for his ability to quickly master complex factual and legal issues, develop pragmatic litigation strategies, and drive cases toward efficient resolution—whether through negotiation, motion practice, or trial.
Joshua earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Hofstra Law Review, and graduated cum laude from Portland State University with a B.S. in Economics and Political Science.
He is admitted to practice in Oregon and New York, as well as before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and multiple federal district courts. His professional honors include the Municipal Affairs Award from the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Division Chief’s Award, and recognition as Legal Rookie of the Year.
