About Mike Arnold
Mike grew up in Parkville, Missouri, north of Kansas City. After graduating from Park Hill High School in 1994, Mike chose to attend Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, partly for the reputation for challenging academics but also because of its nationally renowned rugby coach and program. While at Truman he played rugby, starting in three Western Collegiate Championships, two National Sweet Sixteens, and one Elite Eight. For two years he was selected to play for the Heart of America All-Star team.
In the spring of 1998, after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in political science, where he graduated summa cum laude, both Mike and Jacy worked as substitute teachers in small schools in several rural counties in Northeast Missouri. In deciding where they wanted to attend law school and continue their lives together, they chose Oregon. While touring law schools, they discovered Lane County and decided at that time that Lane County is where they wanted to settle down and raise a family.
Mike received his Juris Doctorate in 2001 from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he was a Wayne Morse Fellow. During law school Mike clerked at the Lane County District Attorney's Office for two years. After graduation he was an associate at a Eugene personal injury firm for a year and then joined his wife at Arnold Law Office, LLC, where he represents clients in both state and federal courts. Additionally, he has been a criminal prosecutor for the city of Eugene.
Mike competes all over the northwest with Eugene Rugby Football Club. He spends his free time working with his wife on their small hobby farm west of Creswell. They also enjoy kayaking, whitewater rafting, and other outdoor activities.
